Mercedes-Benz will make accessible all its current models in petrol variants by this September as it awaits the final decision on Supreme Court’s restriction on more than 2,000 cc diesel cars in Delhi-NCR region.
However, the German luxury car maker feels that diesel as a fuel will skip back. “We are introducing petrol versions in all our vehicles… we already have the largest portfolio of locally manufactured petrol versions available. By September, we will have every model available in petrol variant,” Mercedes-Benz India Managing Director and CEO Roland Folger.
At present, Mercedes-Benz GLE and GLS are not sold in petrol variants. Mr. Folger spoke on sidelines after the company unveiled Mercedes’ sixth vehicle in the present year — AMG 43 priced at Rs.77.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
