In Mumbai, both the C300 and S500 Cabriolet will be accessible at Shaman Wheels which has a set up of the modern facility at Kalina with a 7,200 sq. ft. showroom & a 15,000 sq. ft. state-of-art workshop.

Extending its line-up with two new models, Mercedes-Benz India has reported that it will be launching it’s new Cabriolet range in the country on November 9. The new Cabriolet line-up incorporates the C300 and S500 Convertibles. Strangely, the C-Class Convertible will be the smallest open-top to be offered by the German carmaker in India.

Concerning the styling, the C300 and S500 Cabriolet mirror the design language seen on the car variants. Both models do get subtle changes, however, while there is a  marginal increase in the weight of the cars with the A-column pillar reinforced to make up for the nonappearance of a rooftop.

This guarantees that the wind and road commotion levels are kept very least within. On the S500, Mercedes say that the rooftop can be opened or closed in just 20 seconds at speeds up to 50 km/h; while, it takes up to 24 seconds to open or close the rooftop on the C300 at a similar speed.

As far as power, the more modest Mercedes C300 Cabriolet will utilise a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine tuned for 241bhp and 370Nm of torque. The engine comes combined with a 9-speed automatic transmission and can do the 0-100 km/h keep running in 6.7 seconds. The convertible hits a top speed of 250 km/h.

The S500 Cabriolet then again will be fueled by a 4.7-liter, V8, Biturbo petrol engine that produces 443bhp and 700Nm of torque, while matched to a 9-speed automatic transmission. Mercedes’ top convertible can do the 0-100 km/h keep running in 4.6 seconds with the top speed electronically restricted to 250 km/h.
