The German luxury car automaker – Mercedes-Benz, is on the move to expand its portfolio of ‘dream cars’ launched the S-Class Cabriolet and the C-Class Cabriolet at price of Rs 2.25 crore and Rs 60 lakh, respectively (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi). These two cars are the tenth and the eleventh launch of the year from Mercedes-Benz India.

Mercedes-Benz has the largest range of convertibles cars in India. Mercedes-Benz India has launched three cabriolets in India, right from the S-Class to the C-Class and the all new E-Class, with prices ranging from Rs 2.25 crore (ex-showroom, New Delhi) for the S-500 Cabriolet, Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi) for the C-300 Cabriolet. Mercedes-Benz also had the E-Class Cabriolet present at the launch. With the launch of the S and C Cabriolets, Mercedes-Benz adds 11 new products to its portfolio in 2016 and also completes the cabriolet range in India.

The new S-500 Cabriolet can go from 0-100kmph in just 4.6 seconds with a top speed of 250kmph. The all new Mercedes-Benz S-500 Cabriolet will come with a 4.7-litre, V8, bi-turbo petrol engine that burns out maximum power output of 455bhp and maximum torque of 700Nm, mated to a 9G-Tronic automatic transmission. The all new Mercedes-Benz C-300 Cabriolet will be powered by a 2.0-litre, turbocharged, petrol engine producing the maximum power output of 245bhp and maximum torque of 370Nm, mated to a 9G-Tronic automatic transmission. The all-new Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabriolet has the ability to go from 0-100kmph in just 6.4seconds and has a top speed of 250kmph.

Mercedes-Benz is all set to roll-out the ‘Made in India GLC’, within four months of its India debut. The ‘Made in India GLC’ will be rolled-out of the Pune production facility by Roland Folger, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India and Piyush Arora, Executive Director, Operations, Mercedes-Benz India, on 29th September 2016 at Mercedes-Benz India.

Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV was presented for the first time in India at the 2016 Auto Expo prior this year. Already launched as a CBU in June this year, Mercedes-Benz will now launch the locally assembled variant of the new GLC SUV.

This launch is part of company’s 12 new car launches for the year. This and widening dealer network will help the brand to keep up with their No 1 status in the country.

Mercedes GLC is based on the new era C-Class’ MRA architecture. Compared to the older GLK-Class (which was never launched in India), it offers more space, solace, extravagance, and a more powerful engine.

The GLC also comes equipped with a 9-speed automatic transmission and accompanies two engine options – a 2143cc diesel engine that produces 170 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque, and a 1991cc petrol engine that can put out 245 horsepower and 370 Nm of torque.
