New limited editions of the Mercedes-Benz A-Class and B-Class are available in diesel as well as petrol engines and is limited to 100 units for India starting from Rs.27.31 lakh and Rs.29.84 lakh.

After the introduction of 13 products in 2016, Mercedes-Benz has begun the new year with the launch of two new limited editions of the A-Class and B-Class, the Night Editions. The A-Class Night Edition is priced at Rs.27.41 lakh for the petrol engine powered variant, Rs. 28.32 lakh for the diesel engine powered trim while the B-Class petrol is available at Rs.29.34 lakh and the B-Class diesel has a price tag of Rs.30.35 lakh, all prices ex-showroom, Pune. At the event, Roland Folger, Managing Director and Chief Executive, Mercedes-Benz India stated, “We are glad to remain the most preferred luxury car brand in India and we begin this year in style, by launching two products in the segment we have pioneered, ‘compact luxury’.

As far as power and torque, the standard model of the A-Class A180 produces 90 hp of power at 5,000 rpm and 200 Nm of torque from 1,250 rpm to 4,000 rpm. The diesel A200d generates 100 hp of power from 3,600 rpm to 4,400 rpm and 300 Nm of torque from 1,400 rpm to 3,000 rpm. The B-Class petrol and diesel are offered with the same engine and has the same performance figures, however, the diesel has a different state of tune. Power remains the same and kicks in the same rev range as the A-Class diesel, but, 300 Nm torque is available from 1,600 rpm to 3,000 rpm.

Highlights exclusive to the Night Editions include 17-inch five spoke alloy wheels, ‘Night Edition’ badging, chrome-plated twin exhaust and carbon fibre vinyl on the ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors). The Mercedes-Benz AMG C43 has been launched in India. The sedan has been priced at Rs 74.35 lakh (Ex-showroom, New Delhi). The C43 is the thirteenth launch of the 2016 calendar for Mercedes Benz India.

The AMG C43 is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 that puts out 367bhp and 520Nm of torque. Power is sent to all 4-wheels by a nine-speed automatic gearbox. It can do 0-100kmph in 4.7 seconds and go all the way to hit a top speed of 250kmph.

Mercedes-Benz India has launched the facelifted an updated Mercedes-Benz CLA in India at Rs 31.40 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The new Mercedes-Benz CLA is available in both diesel and petrol engine variants with prices for the petrol 200 Sport being Rs 33.68 lakh and that of the diesel 200 D Sport being Rs 34.68 lakh.

The 200 CDI variants are powered by 2.2-liter diesel engine generating 136 hp and 300 Nm, while the 200 petrol Sport is powered by a 2.0-liter petrol generating 184 hp and 300 Nm. The diesel variants do 0-100 kmph in 9 seconds and have a top speed of 220 kmph while the petrol variant does 0-100 mph in 7.1 seconds and has a top speed of 240 kmph.

On the exterior front, the CLA now gets an updated set of headlamps that are full-LED. The daytime running light pattern too gets a minor update and looks a tad bit better than its predecessor. The bumpers on the Indian version of the CLA are different from the ones offered on the international spec cars. It is fundamentally like the pre-facelift variant but with a chrome accent lip running horizontally across the bumper that gives the new car an edge of stylishness. A similar chrome strip also runs on the rear bumper joining the two tail pipes that have also gone through a very subtle nip and tuck. The side profile of the new CLA is identical to the pre-facelift cars including the 17-inch wheels that have been carried forward.

The CLA interiors are upgraded with the instrument cluster, chrome-themed controls, new upholstery, aluminium pedals and fresh trim parts. Other features like the 8-inch free standing infotainment system having Audio 2.0 USB and Audio 2.0 CD with Apple CarPlay will also be on offer, while you can choose among the optional set of wheels, LED headlamps and hands-free access to the boot via motion sensor. Along with this interiors include enhanced material quality, new colour themes, updated instrument console, revised seats, and a COMAND infotainment system with Apply CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Customers also have the option of upgrading the tablet-like standalone display to a bigger 8-inch unit.

India is the only country to manufacture the 2017 Mercedes-Benz CLA facelift outside of Europe.

The German luxury car automaker – Mercedes-Benz, is on the move to expand its portfolio of ‘dream cars’ launched the S-Class Cabriolet and the C-Class Cabriolet at price of Rs 2.25 crore and Rs 60 lakh, respectively (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi). These two cars are the tenth and the eleventh launch of the year from Mercedes-Benz India.
